Getting a credit card is almost indispensable today. The funny thing is how you lose some of the services you took for granted when you destroy your American Express card like I did. Just ordering some clothes over the internet wasn’t possible and how basic is that in today’s world. It seemed like only a few years ago that cash was the preferred way to get stuff, but those days are long gone now.
It’s all very well using your Mastercard, Visa or American Express Card anywhere in the world but it is often for things you don’t actually need and with money you do not have. Using your American Express credit card may be convenient but there is a cost for the convenience of paying at a later date. In some places, credit card debt is spiraling out of control. It is not a lie when I say the credit card debts are the biggest worry facing the people in America.
Canceling my American Express credit card was something I had to do as I much as I hated doing it. Once I had the power to buy things without parting with my money immediately, I was almost unstoppable. I was using my card for just about everything, but I soon noticed the debts were mounting. Panic kicked in when I found I could no longer pay the debt.
It took a debt consultancy specialist to finally get me back into a position where I actually started to pay my debt off. The whole situation was a nightmare. There is a happy ending though because my debt is paid off and the American Express credit card has been destroyed. Many people would think me unfair about blaming a credit card but they need to understand something about people first.
Paying with cash makes you aware of how much things cost. But like I said before, a credit card made everything way too easy. It wasn’t until I had spent all my money I’d realize that I had been spending it like a running tap. It’s difficult getting yourself into a debt problem if you don’t have an American Express credit card to start with.
